How to Give- and Receive a Gift Back!

Have you ever wished that you could expand your giving to Boys and Girls Clubs of East County Foundation today, receive benefits in return and make a lasting impact on our work in the future?

With a charitable gift annuity, you can make a meaningful gift to BGCEC Foundation and:

  • Receive regular, fixed lifetime payments that may be partially tax-free or taxed at lower rates than other income.
  • Provide dependable payments for your spouse or another person of your choosing.
  • Possibly benefit from an income tax deduction in the year you make your gift.

Here are the details:

Attractive payments for life

Gift annuities provide payments for yourself and/or your spouse or other loved ones. The amount and frequency of payments are determined when the gift annuity is established, and once payments start, your payment rate will not change based on economic conditions.

Gift annuity rates

The recipient’s age, the number of payment recipients, investment return assumptions, and other factors are all considered when determining payment rates and tax benefits. The rates for gift annuity payments are reviewed periodically and are subject to change. (See the chart below for current rates.) Recently, gift annuity rates have increased dramatically.

Possible tax savings

Since a portion of the assets used to create your gift annuity will eventually be used for charitable purposes, you are entitled to a federal, and possibly state, income tax deduction in the year of the gift, which may enable you to itemize. Additionally, for a period of time, a portion of each payment may be received free of income tax or taxed at lower rates than other income.
